Pakistan has successfully launched its electro-optical satellite, EO-3, into space.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the satellite was launched from China’s Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.
ISPR described the launch of the locally developed EO-3 satellite as another significant milestone, marking an important step in Pakistan’s journey towards technological advancement and self-reliance.
The statement added that EO-3 will provide advanced imaging data for urban planning and disaster management. It will also support food security and environmental monitoring through high-resolution imagery.
According to ISPR, the successful launch of EO-3 will lay the foundation for an integrated Earth observation system, contributing to national priorities across various sectors and supporting sustainable socio-economic development.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) also announced the historic success of the satellite launch.
ISPR further stated that on this occasion, the Prime Minister praised the professionalism and dedication of SUPARCO’s engineers and scientists, while reaffirming the continued support of Pakistan’s long-standing partner, China, in the space sector.
