A shocking triple murder case in Ichhra has been solved within hours, with police revealing that the children’s own mother was behind the killings.
DIG Investigation Zeeshan Raza, during a press conference, said that contradictions in the couple’s statements helped investigators crack the case.
The suspect confessed during initial interrogation, admitting she bought a knife from the market and killed her three children after repeated taunts from her husband, who doubted her character and questioned the children’s parentage.
According to DIG Raza, the woman staged a drama to appear innocent, even attempting to blame her mother-in-law for the crime. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran added that after committing the murders, the suspect locked the house and left, later returning to find the lock untouched.
Her unusual confidence, along with strong evidence at the crime scene, made the investigation straightforward.
Police registered a case, with the FIR saying that the woman did not want to live with her husband and killed the children for that reason.
The victims were identified as 5-year-old Momina Batool, 4-year-old Momin Raza, and 1.5-year-old Ummah Habiba.
Their bodies, with throats slit, were recovered from the family’s home. Police confirmed they were killed with a sharp-edged weapon.
