The Pakistani rupee posted a marginal gain against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Thursday.
At the close of trading, the local currency settled at 278.86, appreciating by Re0.01 against the greenback. On Wednesday, the rupee had ended the session at 278.87.
In global currency markets, the US dollar hovered near a 1½-week high on Thursday as investors assessed broader economic signals. The euro was trading at $1.1712 after earlier slipping to its lowest level since April 13.
The common currency is on track for a weekly decline of around 0.4%, marking its first loss in four weeks. Sterling was recorded at $1.3497 against the US dollar.
