LAHORE: Air travel between Pakistan and Gulf countries faced significant disruption on Tuesday after at least 45 flights were cancelled across multiple airports, aviation sources said.
The cancellations affected both inbound and outbound flights to key Gulf destinations, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Bahrain, Kuwait and Fujairah. According to airport officials, the suspended flights included nine from Lahore, 12 from Islamabad, 18 from Karachi, and six from Peshawar.
Sources attributed the disruption to evolving regional conditions linked to ongoing developments in talks between Iran and the United States, which have impacted aviation activity in the region.
Notjust that but a sudden decline in passenger numbers on routes to the United Arab Emirates has contributed to the cancellations, as airlines struggled to meet minimum occupancy requirements.
The situation has caused inconvenience for travelers, with authorities continuing to monitor developments that may further affect flight operations.
