Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and FIA Director General Dr. Usman Anwar have issued directives to strengthen the Federal Investigation Agency’s complaint handling, investigative transparency and overall performance.
Media reports suggest they instructed that public complaints be resolved promptly and strictly on merit, and called for transparent probes with zero tolerance for corruption, backed by a system of rewards and punishments to enforce accountability. Leadership emphasized that additional resources will be linked to measurable performance improvements within the agency.
Besides these, senior officials were ordered to carry out detailed inspections and reviews of ongoing inquiries and major cases across FIA divisions. The leadership also stressed staff welfare reforms, including changes to the promotion process, expanded medical testing and facilities, and other support measures for officers and their families. Authorities committed to protecting honest officers while taking strict action against personnel involved in corruption.
These directives form part of a broader push to transform the FIA into a modern, dynamic and effective institution, with leadership aiming for visible reforms by December 31. The measures signal a renewed focus on accountability, service orientation and performance-linked incentives, which could affect investigation procedures, resource allocation and internal discipline across the agency.
