Meme fest erupts after Virat Kohli likes South African model’s post

It seems the Instagram “Like” button has a knack for bringing Virat Kohli into the spotlight, or is it the other way around?

Indian cricket star started trending on social media after his Instagram account allegedly “liked” a photo of a foreign influencer, triggering a wave of memes and humorous comments online.

According to Indian media reports, the incident came to light when Kohli’s account was said to have liked an old post by German-South African travel vlogger and content creator LizLaz (Jennifer).

This is not the first time something like this has happened with Virat Kohli. Earlier in 2025, he had also liked a photo of Indian actress Avneet Kaur, which created controversy. He later issued a clarification, saying it was an “algorithm error” and that there was no intentional involvement on his part.

Fans are having a field day with memes, from “chain se like bhi nahi karne deta ye samaaj” to blaming Instagram’s algorithm once again.
