A tragic incident of so-called honor killing took place in Taxila, where a man killed his sister, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law with a sharp-edged weapon. After the incident, the accused fled, while police began searching for him.
According to police, the suspect, Najeebullah, attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and slit the throats of his sister, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law.
Police officials said that after the incident, the suspect escaped from the scene, and efforts are underway to arrest him, while police teams are busy collecting evidence from the crime scene.
Initial investigations revealed that the 23-year-old victim had married by choice, which led the suspect to take this extreme step. Those killed include a 40-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man, and a 23-year-old girl.
Earlier this week in Sindh’s Khairpur, a woman was shot dead following a jirga’s decision over allegations of karo kari (honour killing).
According to police, on April 10, a woman identified as Khalida Chandio was allegedly killed near Tando Masti under the orders of a jirga.
Police officials said a case has been registered against four individuals. Two suspects have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accused.
