Lahore: A recent survey conducted by the Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) indicates that a majority of the public has expressed satisfaction and confidence in the leadership of Maryam Nawaz following two years of governance in Punjab.
According to the survey report, most respondents viewed the provincial government’s initiatives positively and described the overall direction of governance as moving forward on the right track. The findings reveal that 69% of participants appreciated the chief minister’s leadership, linking it to Punjab’s progress. Among them, 32% rated the performance as “excellent,” while 31% described it as “good.”
The survey also highlighted strong support among younger citizens as about 55% of respondents stated they would base their future vote on performance, indicating a growing inclination toward performance-driven politics.
In terms of political popularity, the survey report noted that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) enjoys 42% public support in Punjab, while 56% of respondents believe that ongoing development projects have increased the chief minister’s popularity.
Sector-wise feedback showed that the “Suthra Punjab Program” received the highest approval (33%), followed by women’s welfare and protection (30%), public transport (29%), and education (27%). Respondents reported noticeable improvements in these areas.
Additionally, 26% of participants acknowledged improvements in law and order, while 25% appreciated infrastructure development. A significant 56% expressed satisfaction with sanitation and municipal services, calling it a key area of progress in urban facilities.
The survey was conducted among 7,000 citizens, with equal representation of men and women. Of the participants, 57% were from rural areas and 43% from urban areas, ensuring a balanced demographic sample.
Age-wise analysis showed that 69% of individuals aged 18 to 40 expressed positive views, while overall 65% of respondents believed Punjab is progressing in the right direction. The report emphasized youth support as a
