KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a modest increase on Monday, with the 24‑karat tola rate settling at Rs.491,462, up Rs1,100. The 10‑gram gold price also rose to Rs.421,349, gaining Rs.943, according to figures released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Silver, meanwhile, eased slightly, with the 24‑karat tola slipping by Rs.50 to Rs.7,744, while 10 grams fell Rs.43 to Rs.6,639.
The association noted that local bullion rates are calculated on the basis of interbank exchange rates, reflecting currency movements alongside international market trends.
Globally, gold hovered around $4,676 per ounce over the past 12 hours, showing a modest gain of about 0.5 percent as investors sought safe‑haven assets amid currency volatility. Silver softened to $72.90 per ounce, down 0.5 percent, as traders adjusted positions following last week’s rally.
Analysts said the upward trajectory in gold prices underscores its resilience against a stronger dollar, while silver’s decline highlights its sensitivity to industrial demand.
