Karachi Kings fast bowler Hasan Ali has been fined 10% of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of the PCB Code of Conduct during PSL 11, following an incident in the team’s clash against Lahore Qalandars.
Match officials determined that after dismissing Haseebullah, Ali made gestures deemed provocative under Article 2.5 — which prohibits actions that could incite aggression from a dismissed batter.
This is not the first time Ali has faced disciplinary action for on-field conduct; he was previously reprimanded by the ICC in 2021 for an inappropriate send-off to Bangladesh’s Nurul Hasan. While Level 1 offences carry penalties up to 50% of match fees and 1–2 demerit points, they are considered minor — and Ali’s career remains unaffected, as evidenced by his recent match-winning performances and continued selection in key squads.
PCB officials believe that although Hasan’s passion is part of his game, the PCB expects players to maintain decorum, and so the fine serves as a reminder, not a setback.
