Rain and thunderstorms are expected to hit Karachi and several parts of Sindh on Saturday as a westerly weather system moves into the region, bringing a change in otherwise warm and humid conditions, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
In its three-day outlook issued Friday, the department said light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected as the system enters from southwestern Balochistan.
Karachi is likely to remain mostly sunny on Friday, with temperatures ranging between 32°C and 34°C, while humidity may reach 76% before easing later in the day.
On Saturday, conditions are expected to turn partly cloudy, with chances of isolated thunderstorms or rain. Temperatures will hover between 31°C and 33°C, with higher humidity levels during the day.
By Sunday, rain is unlikely, though cloudy conditions may keep temperatures slightly lower, between 30°C and 32°C.
Rain is also forecast in several Sindh districts, including Jamshoro, Sukkur and Tharparkar. The PMD warned that strong winds, hail and lightning could damage vulnerable infrastructure and standing crops, advising farmers to take precautionary measures.
