Pakistani model Zainab Yusuf has ignited a social media firestorm after advising young women to treat relationships with “sugar daddies” purely as financial arrangements, sparking widespread criticism over the ethical implications of her remarks.
The term “sugar daddy” refers to an older, wealthy individual who provides financial support or luxury gifts to a younger person in exchange for companionship or romantic involvement.
Zainab Yusuf advised that young women should never take a sugar daddy relationship seriously or dream of marriage with them.
She claimed that some girls treat these relationships seriously and hope for marriage, and when these expectations are not met, they may make poor decisions.
She added, “Never take a sugar daddy seriously or fall in love, as they are often married with children. Take as much financial benefit as you can.” She further suggested prioritizing cash over gifts like handbags or perfumes to maintain financial independence, arguing that luxury items provide only temporary advantage.
Yusuf also cited an example where a woman had to return a luxury car after the relationship ended, negatively impacting her lifestyle. Her comments have provoked widespread criticism, with some calling them “shameful,” “irresponsible,” and a reflection of moral decline.
