LAHORE: Armed robbers looted gold, cash and other valuables worth more than Rs.190 million during a robbery at a house in Lahore’s Defence A area, police said. Police registered a case on the complaint of the homeowner, Amir Saeed, and started an investigation.
According to the FIR, the incident took place early in the morning when the family returned home after sehri. At that time, four suspects arrived in a car and entered the house.
The suspects allegedly held the family at gunpoint in the TV lounge and collected valuables from the house. These included around 200 tolas of gold, diamond jewellery worth Rs.12.5 million, and other valuables estimated at nearly Rs.100 million.
The FIR also states that gold worth about Rs.30 million and some foreign currency were taken from the second floor of the house. The suspects reportedly entered the residence at around 4:22am.
Police said they have obtained CCTV footage from the area and are trying to identify and arrest the suspects.
