A Pakistani national lost his life after debris from an aerial interception struck a vehicle in Dubai’s Al Barsha area late Saturday night, according to the Dubai Media Office. The victim was reportedly driving when the falling debris hit the car.
This marks the second reported death of a Pakistani citizen in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
The latest escalation began on February 28, when the US and Israel carried out what they called a “pre-emptive” joint strike on Iranian targets. US President Donald Trump subsequently announced the launch of “major combat operations”.
In the aftermath of the strikes, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed, while the attacks have resulted in more than 1,330 deaths across Iran so far.
President Trump has suggested that the conflict could continue until Iran no longer has a functioning military or leadership in place, and warned that Washington could strike the country “very hard”.
Meanwhile, hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel have intensified, with heavy Israeli airstrikes targeting Beirut, retaliatory rocket attacks by Hezbollah, and reports of ground clashes between the two sides.
