The Pakistani rupee posted a slight gain against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Friday, appreciating by 0.01%.
By the close of trading, the local currency settled at 279.47, up by Rs0.03 compared to the previous session. On Thursday, the rupee had finished at 279.50 against the greenback.
In global markets, the Australian dollar was on track for another strong monthly advance amid growing expectations of a more hawkish stance from the central bank. Meanwhile, the Japanese yen was set to record a decline as the Bank of Japan faces pressure from a reflation-focused prime minister.
