Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, has apologised to staff at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation after his name surfaced in documents linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In addressing foundation employees, Gates acknowledged that he had made mistakes which had caused reputational damage to the philanthropic organisation dedicated to humanitarian causes.
However, he firmly denied any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities.
Gates maintained that his association with Epstein was limited to efforts aimed at engaging with wealthy donors and building philanthropic networks.
He stated that he neither participated in nor witnessed any unlawful conduct.
It is worth noting that the United States Department of Justice has released approximately three million pages of material relating to Epstein, including 180,000 photographs and 2,000 videos, as part of ongoing disclosures connected to the case.
