In another tragic incident in Gujranwala, a two-year-old child lost his life after falling into an open sewage drain.
According to police, the tragedy occurred on Abdullah Road in the Kamoki area, where two-year-old Abdullah was playing outside his home when he slipped into a sewage drain and drowned. The child died on the spot despite efforts to rescue him.
Earlier, three sanitary workers fell into a sewer while performing cleaning operations near Jathay Wali Pul, Pakpattan. One worker tragically lost his life, while the other two sustained injuries.
These incidents come amid heightened public outrage over unsafe drains and manholes.
