The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration wing successfully intercepted a human trafficking attempt at Jinnah International Airport today, offloading two women bound for Dubai during the immigration clearance process.
According to FIA officials, one of the passengers, a resident of Faisalabad, confessed during initial questioning to being part of an organized unethical network.
Following this lead, authorities conducted a swift operation resulting in the arrest of the primary suspect responsible for arranging travel logistics and “show money” for the victims.
Modus Operandi
The investigation revealed a digital trail of illegal recruitment.
The suspects reportedly used Facebook and WhatsApp to lure and recruit women for the network.
Authorities seized multiple mobile phones containing incriminating WhatsApp chats and voice notes, detailing the trafficking operations.
One suspect was also taken into custody for attempting to travel on forged documents.
An FIA spokesperson confirmed that all apprehended individuals have been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
This crackdown is part of an ongoing intensified effort to dismantle cross-border trafficking syndicates operating via social media.
