In a heart-wrenching incident in the Uthal area of Lasbela district, the bodies of two teenagers were found hanging from a tree on Wednesday.
Local police suspect the deaths to be a result of a double suicide stemming from a domestic dispute over marriage.
The victims have been identified as 18-year-old Neelo and 17-year-old Paro.
According to police, both teenagers belonged to the Kohli community and were originally from the Mirpurkhas district in Sindh. They had been working as laborers in the fields of a local landlord in Uthal.
Authorities state that the two were in a relationship, but their families had reportedly opposed their union. This disagreement over their marriage is believed to be the primary motive behind the tragic step.
Upon receiving the report, police and rescue teams arrived at the scene in Kandiaro village, near Bela town, and shifted the bodies to a district hospital for autopsies and legal formalities. An active investigation into the incident is currently underway.
