The son of jailed former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has accused the government of blocking his family’s efforts to see him, saying authorities are refusing to process visa applications that would allow him and his brother to travel to Pakistan.
The remarks come amid growing concerns over Imran Khan’s health and conditions of detention, prompting calls for international attention to the case.

In a statement, Kasim Khan said his father, PTI founder Imran Khan, has been held in solitary confinement for 914 days and that his health is deteriorating. He added that Imran Khan is being denied access to independent medical care.
Kasim said that he and his brother wish to come to Pakistan to see their father, but the government is deliberately delaying action on their visa requests.
He said denying a prisoner medical treatment amounts to cruelty, while preventing children from meeting their father is a form of collective punishment.
Kasim Khan also appealed to international human rights organizations and governments to raise their voices on the issue before irreparable harm is done.
