The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) maintained a relatively stable yet marginally divergent path in the currency markets as of Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Data from the interbank and open market sessions reveals a tightening spread between the two tiers, particularly for the US dollar, which remains the primary benchmark for the country’s economic health.
In the interbank market, the US dollar was quoted at a buying rate of 279.65 PKR and a selling rate of 280.15 PKR.

Meanwhile, the open market showed slightly more volatility, with the greenback being bought at 280.55 PKR and sold at 282.25 PKR, reflecting a modest premium for retail consumers and private trade.

A broader look at major global currencies shows significant activity across both markets.
The UK pound sterling remains the most expensive major currency for local buyers, trading at 384.01 PKR in the interbank market and rising to 388.18 PKR in the open market.
The euro followed a similar trend, priced at 331.40 PKR for interbank selling and 335.01 PKR in the open market.
For regional travelers and expatriates, the Saudi Riyal and U.A.E. Dirham held steady; the Riyal was sold at 74.71 PKR interbank compared to 75.30 PKR in the open market, while the Dirham sat at 76.29 PKR versus 77.20 PKR, respectively.
Market analysts note that the current stability in the 280-range for the US dollar suggests a period of balanced supply and demand, likely supported by consistent remittance inflows and managed import payments.
