General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Chief of the Turkish General Staff, on Friday met with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
Upon arrival at GHQ, the Turkish military chief was received with a guard of honor by the Pakistan Armed Forces.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the current regional and global security situation, and possibilities for enhancing bilateral defense and military cooperation.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the current trajectory of Pakistan-Turkey relations and emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination and expanding defense cooperation.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the long-standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkey, rooted in shared history, mutual trust, and strong public relations. He appreciated the continued support of the Turkish Armed Forces and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening military relations.
General Bayraktaroğlu thanked the Pakistani leadership for the warm reception and praised the professionalism of the armed forces.
He reiterated Turkey’s commitment to deepening defense cooperation through training, joint exercises, and capability-building initiatives.
According to ISPR, the visit reflects the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and Turkey and their shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and security.
