Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has warned that Israel is searching for a suitable opportunity to launch a possible attack on Iran, cautioning that any such move could further destabilise the entire region.
In a recent interview, Fidan said he had received indications suggesting that Israel is actively considering options that specifically target Iran.
While expressing hope that the situation would move towards a peaceful outcome, he added that the reality is Israel is closely assessing ground conditions for a potential military operation.
The Turkish foreign minister revealed that he openly shared these concerns with Iranian officials during his recent visit to Tehran. He remarked that a sincere friend is one who does not hide difficult or uncomfortable truths, but instead brings them forward.
Following Fidan’s remarks, analysts have expressed expectations of closer diplomatic engagement and coordination between Türkiye and Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran has once again made it clear that any external attack on its territory would be viewed as a direct declaration of war and would be met with a strong response.
Foreign affairs experts note that the region is already facing multiple political and security crises, and that any major military action could seriously undermine peace and stability. Fidan emphasised that Türkiye prioritises Iran’s sovereignty, regional peace and diplomatic solutions, and opposes any unnecessary military intervention.
Separately, investigative reports have pointed to recent military and political signals from the United States and Israel amid rising tensions, fuelling concerns that instability in the Middle East could intensify further.
