Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal has demanded that Karachi be made a part of the Federation.
While addressing a press conference in Karachi, Mustafa Kamal stated that Karachi should be incorporated into the federal capital territory, asserting that the city can no longer afford to remain under the current administration.
He remarked that the 18th Amendment is “killing us” and “carrying out our genocide.”
He called for an end to what he described as the “drama of the 18th Amendment,” claiming it has become a “cancer” for the country.
The Federal Minister added that the powers granted under the 18th Amendment are not being utilized for the welfare of the people.
He further questioned how many more accidents the people of Karachi must endure, how many more bodies they must carry, how many more people must burn to death, and how many more children must die by falling into open sewers.
Mustafa Kamal asked when their grievances would be addressed and what consolation could be offered to the people.
He noted that while the current provincial government has been in power for 18 years, whenever a complaint is made to the Sindh Government, they deflect by bringing up the Baldia Factory fire or extortion (Bhatta Khori). He asked if such past events justify the current lack of governance.
The Federal Minister concluded by saying that the provincial authorities do whatever they please, as there is no one to hold them accountable.
He addressed the state, saying that “enough is enough” and that these rulers will not change their ways.
