A 26-year-old German doctor has traveled to a small village in Mandi Bahauddin, Pakistan, to marry her online sweetheart, 22-year-old Muhammad Akmal.
Their love story began on the gaming platform Roblox, blossomed over five months of online communication, and culminated in a cross-cultural wedding that has captured the hearts of social media users.
In an interview with the YouTube channel MY News TV, Akmal said their relationship began while playing the online game Roblox. They communicated online for nearly five months before Selma decided to come to Pakistan and marry him.

Akmal said he proposed to Salma on the very first day, and after a brief delay, she arrived in Pakistan. Selma said that initially, she was surprised by village life and daily chores but was happy to be with her husband.
She added that tasks like washing clothes and dishes, and making bread, were new experiences. Although challenging at first, she learned quickly.
Akmal said the wedding had full family support and cost approximately PKR 4.5 million, including travel expenses and the ceremony.
Salma holds two passports, German and Bosnian, and intends to spend her life in Pakistan with Akmal. She is also learning Punjabi and Urdu to make communication easier.
Akmal said life after marriage has been joyful, and the couple lives with love and respect for each other.
