Karachi police on Wednesday arrested a suspect involved in a theft at a Hindu temple, officials confirmed.
The suspect was identified with the help of CCTV footage, and stolen items were recovered from his possession. However, a second suspect involved in the incident remains at large.
According to police, two individuals carried out the theft on 14 January at a temple located in the Doli Khata area of the city.
The suspects reportedly broke the temple’s locks and stole five idols along with copper and brass utensils. In addition, silver jewellery and cash amounting to Rs75,000 were taken from the temple’s charity box.
Police officials stated that all stolen items have been recovered from the arrested suspect. Further investigations are under way to trace and arrest the remaining accomplice at the earliest.
