Renowned Radio Pakistan newscaster Ishrat Fatima has bid farewell to the national broadcaster after an association spanning 45 years.
In a video message shared on social media platform X, Ishrat Fatima sought permission in a traditional manner and said, “Today, I am saying goodbye to my 45-year association with Radio Pakistan.”
Addressing listeners and viewers in an emotional tone, she said, “Before taking leave of you, I want to thank you and Radio Pakistan from the depths of my heart. For more than four decades, Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television have filled my life with the respect and love you have shown me.”
She added, “Reaching your homes and hearts and remaining at the highest level of your affection to this day is no small achievement. This is truly a blessing from Allah and my parents. If I am anything today, it is by the grace of my Lord.”

Describing her decision, she said, “This was a very difficult decision, made with a heavy heart, but surely this is all that my Lord had destined for me here. Please remember me in your prayers.”
She also said, “Please do not forget that I always tried to fulfill my responsibilities with hard work, fairness, and sincerity.”
Seeking permission to depart from Radio Pakistan, Ishrat Fatima requested prayers and said, “May Allah keep me, you, this institution, and our beloved Pakistan in His protection. Pakistan Zindabad.”
She did not share further details regarding her departure from the national institution. Meanwhile, journalists, broadcasting professionals, and users on X extended their best wishes to her.
