Climate Action Center Karachi (CAC) has announced Climate Week Karachi 2026, a city-wide series of events aimed at reimagining Karachi’s climate future through dialogue, art, policy discussions, and community engagement.
The initiative is scheduled to take place in January 2026, with tentative dates from January 29 to February 4.
According to the reports, Climate Week Karachi will bring together community leaders, youth, activists, professionals, government officials, civil society organizations, academics, artists, and children to highlight the urgent climate challenges facing the metropolis and explore coordinated solutions.
The events will be hosted across multiple cultural and academic spaces in Karachi, in partnership with organizations working on climate action in the city.
The initiative seeks to mainstream climate action while creating narratives that connect Karachi’s local realities with global climate concerns.
The week will focus on key climate themes, including Indus in crisis, floods, extreme heat, waste management, drainage and water, biodiversity, green energy and clean mobility, air quality, digital futures, climate finance, and climate humanities.
Planned activities include Climate Gupshup sessions featuring discussions and talks, film screenings, hands-on workshops, performances incorporating music, theater, poetry, and storytelling, and art and science stalls showcasing climate innovation.
Climate Week Karachi 2026 aims to foster collective imagination and action, positioning the city at the center of conversations on climate resilience, sustainability, and equitable futures.
