OpenAI officially launched ChatGPT Health, a dedicated, private space within the ChatGPT interface designed for personal health management.
This feature allows users to integrate their actual medical data to receive personalized, grounded health information.
Personalized Health Context
Users can securely connect their electronic medical records (EHR) and wellness apps, including Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, Function Health, Weight Watchers, and Peloton.
Dedicated Workspace
Health conversations, connected files, and “Health Memories” are stored in a sandboxed tab separate from standard chats.
Practical Utility
The tool is designed to help users understand lab results, prepare for doctor appointments, compare insurance plans, and receive tailored diet or workout advice.
Privacy & Security
OpenAI states that health conversations are isolated and not used to train its foundation AI models. Data connectivity is powered by the b.well Connected Health infrastructure.
Usage & Limitations
OpenAI emphasizes that ChatGPT Health is a support tool, not a replacement for professional medical care. It is not intended for the diagnosis or treatment of medical conditions.
Availability
Available on Web and iOS (Android support is coming soon).
Restricted regions
Not currently available in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or the European Economic Area (EEA) due to local data protection regulations.
Medical record integration is currently limited to users in the United States who are over 18.
How to Access
You can request access by joining the Official Waitlist on the OpenAI website. Once available, it will appear as a separate “Health” tab in your sidebar.
