A 5.8-magnitude earthquake was felt across several parts of Pakistan on [date], including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and surrounding areas.
Tremors were also reported in Swat, Malakand, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, and nearby regions.
Residents of Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, and Leepa Valley reported feeling the quake, with many leaving their homes and reciting prayers.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the earthquake’s epicenter was in northern Tajikistan, at a depth of 159 kilometers.
No immediate reports of casualties or damage have been received.
This follows a previous earthquake in December 2025, when a 5.2-magnitude tremor struck Karachi and surrounding areas at 12:51 am.
Tremors were felt in neighborhoods including SITE Area, Saddar, Clifton, DHA Phase 8, PECHS, Shah Faisal Colony, Liaquatabad, and Buffer Zone, with residents in Liaquatabad describing the shaking as particularly strong.
