A severe cold wave continues to affect large parts of the country, with Karachi’s temperature dropping to single digits for the first time this winter season.
According to weather reports, the minimum temperature in Karachi was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius. Cold winds blowing across the city have further intensified the chill, making the weather feel colder than the actual temperature.
Meteorological authorities have warned that the cold conditions are likely to persist over the next few days.
The cold wave has also tightened its grip on other parts of the country.
Quetta recorded a freezing temperature of minus four degrees Celsius, while Peshawar saw a low of four degrees.
In the federal capital, Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at five degrees, whereas Lahore experienced a low of seven degrees Celsius.
Authorities have advised citizens, especially children and the elderly, to take precautionary measures as cold weather conditions continue across Pakistan.
