The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday snapped the winning streak with the benchmark KSE-100 Index losing nearly 1,000 points.
At close, the benchmark index settled at 185,543.01, a drop of 975.70 points or 0.52%.
Selling was observed in major sectors, including cement, chemical, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, power generation, and refineries.
On Wednesday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its bullish momentum, with sustained buying interest pushing the benchmark index to a new all-time high amid broad-based participation across sectors.
The KSE-100 Index surged by 1,456.61 points, or 0.79%, to settle at a record 186,518.72 points.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee strengthened against the US dollar in early inter-bank trading on Thursday, appreciating by 0.07%. At around 10am, the local currency was trading at 279.85 per dollar, up Rs0.21 from the previous close of 280.06 recorded on Wednesday.
