London’s Counter-Terrorism Policing (CTP) is investigating a series of targeted attacks on former Pakistani adviser Shahzad Akbar and YouTuber Adil Raja, treating the incidents as “highly targeted” and potentially coordinated.
Authorities are exploring whether the attacks were planned and organized. While keeping an “open mind” regarding motives, CTP London has taken over the investigation from local police due to the specific nature of the assaults.

Timeline of Events:
December 24, 8:08 AM: Shahzad Akbar was violently attacked at his Cambridge home by masked assailants, sustaining injuries including a broken nose, jaw, and ribs.
December 24–26: Around the same time, Adil Raja reported a break-in at his London suburb residence, with his home ransacked by unknown intruders.
December 31, 4:00 PM: A second attack at Shahzad Akbar’s property involved suspects breaking a window and attempting to throw a burning rag inside.
Both men have recently faced extradition requests from Pakistan and have been sentenced in absentia by Pakistani courts for “digital terrorism” in early January 2026.
The International Human Rights Foundation has warned these incidents may reflect a “dangerous pattern of transnational repression.”
As of January 8, no arrests have been made. Police continue to provide security advice to both victims while investigations remain ongoing
