The Health Minister has taken notice after a newborn boy was reportedly changed to a girl at the nursery on Jinnah Road, Quetta.
The father alleged that his son was born five days ago and had been placed in an incubator in the nursery for treatment.
Following the changeling, the father filed a complaint against the nursery administration. Police took action and transferred the nursery staff to the local police station.
The Health Minister also took notice of the incident and ordered the Health Care Commission to submit a report within 24 hours.
Earlier this week, a three-month-old child was abducted from the Civil Hospital in Karachi. The alleged abductors, a woman and her companion, reportedly lured the child’s mother under the pretext of providing medical treatment and brought the child to the hospital, from where they abducted the baby from the ward and fled.
