Comedian and actress Amy Schumer has officially filed for divorce from her husband of seven years, chef Chris Fischer.
The filing was submitted on January 6, 2026, in New York County, weeks after Schumer publicly announced their separation on December 12, 2025.

According to court documents, the divorce has been listed as “matrimonial—uncontested,” suggesting that both parties have reached mutual agreements on financial matters, property division, and the custody of their son.
Schumer has repeatedly stressed that the separation is amicable. In earlier statements, she said the former couple “love each other very much” and would remain “a family forever.” Sources close to the pair indicate that their primary focus remains co-parenting their six-year-old son, Gene. Despite the separation, Schumer and Fischer are reported to have continued living in the same home to ensure stability for their child.
Addressing public speculation, Schumer clarified that the split was not linked to her recent weight loss or Fischer’s autism diagnosis. She emphasized that the decision was a personal one, made with mutual respect and understanding.
