Uraan Pakistan has launched its flagship Young Development Fellowship (YDF) program, offering a monthly stipend of Rs90,000 to young professionals seeking hands-on experience in public policy and national development.
The highly competitive, one-year paid fellowship is being offered by the Planning Commission under the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Government of Pakistan.
The initiative aims to nurture a new generation of impact-driven leaders by providing structured exposure to development planning, public policy, innovation and reform initiatives.
Under the program, selected fellows will work closely with senior policymakers and public and private sector institutions, gaining practical experience at the core of national policy-making.
Eligibility criteria
According to the Planning Commission, applicants must be between 21 and 30 years of age and hold a Master’s degree or a 16-year professional qualification from a recognized local or foreign university in a relevant field. A minimum GPA of 3.2 is required.
Candidates from a wide range of disciplines are eligible, including development and economics, finance and accounting, information technology, artificial intelligence, public policy and governance, energy, education and health, project management, data analytics, urban planning, water resources, infrastructure and construction, exports and trade, and several other development-related fields.
Benefits
Selected Young Development Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of Rs90,000 for one year. However, officials clarified that incomplete applications will not be entertained, only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews, and no TA/DA will be admissible.

Interested candidates are required to apply through courier on the prescribed application proforma available on the Planning Commission’s website (www.pc.gov.pk/web/career).
Applicants must send a hard copy of the filled proforma along with their CV and attested copies of degrees and testimonials before 13th January, 2026.
Officials encouraged eligible youth from across the country to apply, saying the fellowship offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s national development while gaining valuable professional experience.
