Ramadan in Pakistan is expected to begin on February 19, 2026, while Eidul Fitr is likely to be observed on March 21, 22 and 23, according to astronomical calculations released by the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council.
The council said that the Shawwal moon is expected to be visible on March 20, which would mark the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eidul Fitr celebrations the following day.
However, these dates are based on astronomical projections and remain tentative.
The final decision regarding the start of Ramadan and the celebration of Eidul Fitr will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee following the official moon sighting.
It is worth mentioning that Ramadan is the ninth and holiest month of the Islamic lunar calendar, observed by over two billion Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. It commemorates the month in which the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
