A man illegally entered a girls’ hostel at an Islamabad university, breaching privacy and raising concerns about the safety of women-only areas on university campuses.
On January 3, 2026, a suspect identified as Fayzan Satti, a resident of Begha in Kotli Sattian Tehsil, climbed the walls of Quaid-i-Azam University’s Girls Hostel No. 5 in the early hours of the morning.
However, a security guard immediately spotted the intruder and pursued him as he tried to flee through the hostel corridors.
The matter was reported immediately, and a written complaint was filed at the Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad by Security Officer Ansar Mahmood.
The police registered an initial information report (FIR) under Section 452 of the Pakistan Penal Code, relating to unlawful entry into a home after preparing to commit injury, assault, or wrongful restraint.
In recent months, incidents violating privacy, such as the discovery of hidden cameras in girls’ hostels, have raised serious concerns across Pakistan.
Local media have reported various instances of covert surveillance targeting women in private spaces including hostels, shelters, and salons have emerged from different parts of the country.
Advocacy groups, including the Digital Rights Foundation (DRF), have voiced strong concerns over these breaches of privacy and dignity.
