Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 has remained a hot topic for quite some time after Ranveer Singh put the project on indefinite hold.
Now, as per Pinkvilla reports, they suggest that the makers are considering Hrithik Roshan to take on the lead role.
According to a Filmfare report, the team behind Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar, is looking to bring Hrithik Roshan on board as the new face of the iconic franchise.
A source revealed that after Ranveer Singh stepped away, Hrithik has emerged as a strong possibility for the role.
However, talks are still in the preliminary phase, and there is no clarity yet on whether Roshan will ultimately sign the film.
While an official announcement is still awaited, the prospect of Hrithik stepping into the shoes of the legendary gangster previously portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan has certainly sparked curiosity.
Notably, Hrithik had a brief but significant cameo in Don 2, where Shah Rukh Khan’s character disguises himself as Hrithik in a pivotal scene.
The original Don was released in 1978, with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. Penned by the iconic Salim–Javed duo, the film achieved massive success and went on to become a timeless classic, inspiring several remakes across languages.
Decades later, Farhan Akhtar rebooted the franchise with Don (2006), featuring Shah Rukh Khan in a revamped avatar. The film’s success led to a sequel, Don 2, released in 2011, with SRK reprising his role.
A few years ago, the makers officially announced Don 3 with Ranveer Singh through a teaser.

However, after the success of Dhurandhar, Ranveer is reportedly unwilling to take on another gangster role.
He is now said to be concentrating on his upcoming project, Pralay, directed by Jai Mehta, a zombie thriller centered on a man’s fight to protect his family in a world pushed to the brink.
Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan is expected to headline Krrish 4, which he will also direct. He has also confirmed another upcoming film under the Hombale Films banner.
