Renowned Pakistani journalist and Sar-e-Aam host Iqrar-ul-Hassan officially announced the launch of his political party during an event in London on Sunday, despite facing significant disruption from protesters.
The event intended to discuss Hassan’s entry into the political arena was marred by a vocal demonstration by supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The protesters gathered at the venue, chanting slogans such as “Imran Khan is everywhere” and expressing their opposition to Hassan’s political ambitions.
The primary grievances cited by the protesters included, criticizing Hassan for entering politics after years of publicly stating he would never do so.
He also faced accusations that his new movement is an “establishment project” designed to fragment PTI’s vote bank and influence.
Despite the tense atmosphere and continuous chanting, Iqrar-ul-Hassan utilized the platform to confirm that his political party will be formally launched on January 15, 2026.
During his address, Hassan reiterated his vision for Pakistan, focusing on implementing a strict system of checks and balances. Promoting leadership based on competence rather than dynastic ties.
He took aim at Pakistan’s major existing political parties, labeling them as part of a failed system that has hindered the country’s progress.
