A leopard has been spotted on the premises of the International Islamic University (IIU), prompting the administration to shut down the campus, while officials from the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) have confirmed the presence of the wild animal.
As per the university, the animal was initially spotted hiding in bushes on the campus, causing panic among students and staff.
The administration responded by immediately shutting down all university departments and alerting the relevant authorities, requesting support from the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) and the police.
A wildlife team arrived on campus and launched a search operation, confirming evidence of the leopard’s presence and indicating that it remains within the university grounds.

As a precaution, wildlife experts have installed traps and are continuing patrols while maintaining coordination with concerned agencies.
The IWMB has advised the university community and the public to stay calm, refrain from spreading rumours, and cooperate with officials as the operation continues.
“There is no need to panic at this stage,” the board said in a statement, adding that relevant teams are alert and working closely with other departments.
