Pakistan’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves reached $21.022 billion as of December 19, 2025, with the State Bank of Pakistan holding $15.903 billion, the central bank said on Friday.
The central bank said that during the week ending December 19, the State Bank of Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves increased by $16 million, reaching $15.9025 billion, mainly due to routine inflows and payments.
Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks stood at $5.120 billion, bringing the country’s total liquid foreign reserves to $21.0226 billion.
The statement further said that during the week ending December 19, 2025, the SBP’s foreign exchange reserves rose by $16 million to $15,902.5 million.
Last week, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) surged by $1.3 billion in a single week to reach a 3.9-year high, after receiving loan tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The SBP reserves jumped to $15.89 billion as of December 12, 2025, after the central received $1.2 billion from the IMF under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).
