Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan and the Pakistan Banks Association (PBA), has launched an innovative digital platform called ‘Zarkhaizi’, designed to revolutionize agricultural financing.
The initiative aims to digitize agricultural finance, enabling farmers to apply digitally through the Zarkhaizi app and obtain loans of up to Rs1 million. After necessary verification, applications will be forwarded to the farmer’s bank of choice for processing.
75 percent of the financing will be provided in the form of agricultural inputs through bank approved agricultural vendors for the purchase of farm equipment and supplies.
In addition to financing, farmers will also receive agricultural advisory services through the Land Information Management System (LIMS). By combining financing with quality agricultural inputs and farmer advisory services, the Zarkhaizi platform is expected to help improve agricultural productivity.
To encourage banks to extend financing to small farmers, the government has introduced a 10% first loss coverage and an operational cost subsidy of Rs10,000 per borrower for the net increase in banks’ outstanding agricultural loans.
The Zarkhaizi app is now available for download on the Google Play Store, while farmers can also visit any nearby bank branch for assistance with digital on-boarding.
How to apply
The complete application for Zarkheze Asaan Qarza is carried out through the official Zarkheze Portal (click here) or the mobile app provided by partner banks.
- Click “Sign Up” and complete the registration form.
- An OTP (OneTime Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification.
- Applicants must pay a nonrefundable processing fee of Rs. 1,200 online.
