The price of gold in Pakistan experienced a significant hike on Monday, rising sharply in line with gains observed in the international bullion market.
According to the rates released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Associations (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold per tola increased by Rs2,600.
The rise has pushed prices for both gold and silver to new levels, reflecting strong demand and a weaker US Dollar globally.
| Commodity | Purity | Price (PKR) | Change (PKR) |
| Gold Tola | 24 Karat | 454,862 | (+) 2,600 |
| Gold 10gm | 24 Karat | 389,970 | (+) 2,229 |
| Gold 10gm | 22 Karat | 357,485 | (+) 2,043 |
| Silver Tola | 24 Karat | 6,532 | (+) 68 |
| International Gold | Per Ounce | $4,325 | (+) $26 |
| International Silver | Per Ounce | $62.60 | (+) $0.68 |
The substantial increase in the domestic gold price is largely attributed to the commodity’s rise in the international market. Globally, gold has been gaining ground, supported by factors like.
-
A weaker US Dollar.
-
The expectation of Federal Reserve rate cuts in the first half of 2026, making non-yielding gold a more attractive asset.
-
Continued strong purchasing by central banks from emerging markets.
The price of 24-karat gold per 10-gram saw a gain of Rs2,229, reaching Rs389,970. Meanwhile, silver also moved higher in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver per tola gaining Rs68.
The price of international gold rose by $26 per ounce, reaching $4,325.
