Four people were burnt to death after an oil tanker caught fire on the National Highway in Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab.
According to details, the tragic incident occurred near Muslim Chowk. Officials said that four individuals lost their lives and one person was injured in the horrifying accident on the National Highway.
Authorities stated that the incident took place during repair work on the oil tanker. While the tanker did not contain oil at the time, rescue teams acted swiftly and managed to extinguish the fire.
It is worth noting that earlier, a boiler explosion in a chemical factory in Malikpur, Faisalabad had caused a major blast, raising the death toll to 17.
According to a report released today, Faisalabad Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar confirmed that the number of fatalities had reached 17, adding that five people were injured and were receiving medical treatment.
Speaking to the media, Raja Jahangir Anwar said that initial findings suggested the factory explosion occurred due to a gas pipeline rupture. Most of the casualties were residents living in houses adjacent to the factory.
