The first cause list of the Federal Constitutional Court has been issued, and three benches will hear cases next week, as reported by national media on Sunday.
According to the issued cause list, the Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court, Ameenuddin Khan, will hear cases. Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi will also hear cases, while a two-member bench comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice KK Agha will hear cases.
In recent days, the establishment of this court was carried out through the 27th Constitutional Amendment, while prior to this, a constitutional bench existed in the Supreme Court.
Two days ago, President Asif Ali Zardari issued a presidential order appointing the judges of the new court, under which the court will consist of 13 judges including the Chief Justice, and it will be set up on the top floor of the Islamabad High Court.
The list of judges includes Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Rozi Khan, Justice KK Agha, and Justice Aamir Farooq. All judges will take part in the formal decisions of the constitutional court, and judicial proceedings are expected to begin in the coming days.
