The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has officially commenced the licensing of VPN service providers.
According to information shared on Pakistan Television’s X account, the PTA has taken a significant step by starting to issue licenses to companies offering Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.
The initiative aims to regulate the provision of secure and legal VPN services across the country.
PTA has issued class licenses to more than five companies for offering VPN services.

Companies licensed by the PTA will now be authorized to provide VPN services strictly for legal and legitimate purposes, while consumers will be able to obtain VPN access directly from registered and licensed providers.
This move is intended to enhance user convenience, improve regulatory standards, and strengthen cybersecurity in Pakistan.
