In positive news for Pakistan’s economy, gas production has increased at the Gambat South Block-II located in Sanghar district, Sindh. The development has been confirmed by Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL).
According to a PPL spokesperson, the Gas Processing Facility-II (GPF-II) at Gambat South Block is now producing 60 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas, up from the previous 55 MMCFD, marking an increase of 5 MMCFD in daily output.
In addition to gas, the block is also yielding 35 barrels of crude oil and one metric ton of LPG per day, the spokesperson added. PPL holds a 65 percent working interest in the block.
The company’s spokesperson stated that the rise in production is the result of enhanced recovery efforts to maximize hydrocarbon extraction from existing fields. Experts say this progress will not only strengthen the energy sector but also positively impact the national economy.
