The trailer for the film Gustaakh Ishq, starring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh alongside veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, has been released.
The romantic drama, which is laced with Urdu poetry, is set in Old Delhi and will be released in cinemas on November 28, 2025.
The story follows Nawabuddin (Vijay Varma), who goes to the home of a renowned Urdu poet (Naseeruddin Shah) to learn shayari (poetry).
There, he meets the poet’s daughter (Fatima Sana Shaikh), and a romance blossoms.
However, the situation takes a dark turn, possibly involving a “whimsical murder mystery” and financial troubles, which eventually lead to a heartbreaking separation due to misunderstandings and differences.
The film also features Sharib Hashmi in a pivotal role.
This project marks the debut of celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra as a film producer, a “passion project” he has described as a way of giving back to the medium of cinema that inspired him as a child.

The soulful music is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, with poignant lyrics penned by the legendary Gulzar. The sound design is by Oscar winner Resul Pookutty.
