A case has been registered against the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Khan Afridi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) for allegedly damaging the reputation of state institutions through false and misleading statements.
According to details, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency filed the case against Chief Minister Sohail Afridi under PECA. The complaint was lodged by a citizen at the Cyber Crime Reporting Centre in Islamabad.
The FIR accuses Afridi of spreading hatred against state institutions and sharing misleading, false, and baseless video statements on social media.
The report further says that the videos in question aimed to undermine the credibility of the state and national security institutions.
It also mentions that the Chief Minister made a false, provocative media statement outside Adiala Jail, and the same video was later shared via the official PTI social media page, spreading anti-state content.
